Parent Support Specialist

Hello Ridgetop families. I am your new Parent Support Specialist for the 2011-2012 school year. I have previously worked as a Parent Support Specialist at Johnston High School and J. J. Pickle Elementary. Most recently, I worked as a Parent Support Coordinator for the Austin Independent School District.

My work has centered on conducting outreach to families and the community by organizing community walks, home visits, collaborating with service providers and education institutions to meet the needs of students and families at various schools. Other areas of my work have been to offer workshops/training and leadership opportunities to parents, staff and the community to broaden our understanding of campus goals/objectives, district initiatives and increase parent participation in the decision-making process.

I am ready to partner with you to continue the excellent work that has taken place at Ridgetop. I welcome any suggestions you may have for this coming school year.
